Comparing and Contrasting
There are many similarities between the seven major religions of the world: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism, and Animism. Most of these religions can be found throughout the entire world, although being based in a specific place (usually somewhere in the middle east). All of these religions teach that others should be treated well and respectfully, as well as other basic and universal ethics. The History of these religions are not linked besides from Christinaity and Islam to Judaism.
The common belief in the God of Abraham links these three religions. The Religious Ecologies of these religions are also linked. Most believe that the Earth is gift from God or the gods and must be treated with respect. Religions such as Sikhism, Hinduism, and Buddhism, however, believe in reincarnation with Nature. The Cultural Integration of these religions is also a key difference among them. Religions like Christianity, Islam, and Judasim are at the fore-front while Sikhism and Animism are harder pressed to be found in culture. All of these religions have locations that they hold sacred.
