Animism is the belief that animals and even inaminate objects possses spiritual power. It teaches that nature is very spiritual and that animals and plants are lifegiving and possess spiritual power. Animism is the oldest belief system in the world. Animism orginated with nomadic tribes and has been passed down through oral tradition. It is commonly seen in Native American tribes and tribes around the world such as in Africa and Zimbabwe. As cities developed some Native Americans relocated bringing their Animistic beliefs with them. (relocation diffusion) Through the years, tribes have faught and spread their beliefs to other tribes. (expansion diffusion) Animism hsa no definite founder and no definite leader. There are no really different types of animism besides some that consider inaminate objects spiritual.

Animism has an impact on polotics because some groups such as Native Americans have political influence because they are a large group in America and do indeed have a lot of power and influence_
